Celebrate Following Jesus
If you’ve made the decision to follow Jesus, He said those who love Him, keep His commandments. (John 14:21) Being baptized in water is a step of obedience following what Jesus commanded. It’s also a testimony or response to God of a clear conscience. Baptism symbolizes the new life we have in Jesus.
Here’s a section from our beliefs on baptism. All of this description is taken directly from the Bible, and you’ll see scripture references at the bottom.
About Water Baptism
And that water is a picture of baptism (water immersion), which now saves you, not by removing dirt from your body, but as a response to God from a clean conscience. It is effective because of the resurrection of Jesus Christ. For we died and were buried with Christ by baptism. And just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glorious power of the Father, now we also may live new lives. Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.
