Qof ק

The letter Qof ק is the 19th letter of the Hebrew alphabet and has a numeric value of 100. The pictograph originally depicted the sun on the horizon. The verses in the acrostic of Psalm hinted at the concept of time, therefore the most frequent meaning of Qof is ‘enduring’.

Qof ק Prayer Focus: Endurance!

When you first go to the gym you don’t walk in and start lifting 400 lbs. You start small and work your way up, there’s a process. Building a relationship with Jesus is a marathon, not a sprint. We don’t start in Revelation; we go to something that will be easier to understand. Endurance is staying strong when adversity comes. Continuing to do Gods will and rejoicing in the suffering.

James 1:2-4

My brothers and sisters, consider it nothing but joy when you fall into all sorts of trials, because you know that the testing of your faith produces endurance. And let endurance have its perfect effect, so that you will be perfect and complete, not deficient in anything.

In Christ we build a foundation, we are to trust in Him with all our needs. Our faith grows and changes with time but Jesus, our foundation, never changes. Following Jesus isn’t a one-time decision to then go and just live the way we want. We must continually trust in Him and turn to Him when the storms are around us.

Jesus learned obedience in His suffering and if we endure to the very end we will get to share in all that belongs to Christ.

Today let’s pray for the power of the Holy Spirit in our lives to provide the strength and endurance that only God gets the credit for!

Section ק of Psalm 119

Psalms 119:145-152 (NET) ק (Qof)

145 I cried out with all my heart, “Answer me, O LORD!

I will observe your statutes.”

146 I cried out to you, “Deliver me,

so that I can keep your rules.”

147 I am up before dawn crying for help.

I find hope in your word.

148 My eyes anticipate the nighttime hours,

so that I can meditate on your word.

149 Listen to me because of your loyal love!

O LORD, revive me, as you typically do!

150 Those who are eager to do wrong draw near;

they are far from your law.

151 You are near, O LORD,

and all your commands are reliable.

152 I learned long ago that

you ordained your rules to last.
