Resh ר Prayer Focus: We Are The Body of Christ!

God designed the human body perfectly, every part having its purpose. The Body of Christ is the same way. Each part being different, is perfect. If the whole body was an eye, like it says in Corinthians, which part would do the hearing or smelling? Everyone has a different gift and is needed or else the Body of Christ wouldn’t function. Christ is the head; we follow, listen, and let Him guide us. We as the body are joined together through the gift of salvation to represent Christ. What does the Body do? We love God, love people, and make disciples. Church isn’t just a building we go to once a week. A building is temporary and has no significant meaning, but we as Jesus followers make up the church. Church is the entire group of believers who put their faith in Christ. We aren’t meant to do life alone. Fellowship with others helps us grow in our walk following Jesus. It’s like baking a cake, the flour itself doesn’t make the cake, it’s when all the ingredients come together.

Hebrews 10:24-25 (NLT)

24 Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. 25 And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.
Today let’s pray that as the Body of Christ, we can be the light and that others will see Gods love within us. Here are some scriptures to meditate on as we pray together: (mouse over or click the scripture references)

Psalms 119:153-160 (NET) ר (Resh)

153 See my pain and rescue me! For I do not forget your law. 154 Fight for me and defend me! Revive me with your word! 155 The wicked have no chance for deliverance, for they do not seek your statutes. 156 Your compassion is great, O LORD. Revive me, as you typically do! 157 The enemies who chase me are numerous. Yet I do not turn aside from your rules. 158 I take note of the treacherous and despise them, because they do not keep your instructions. 159 See how I love your precepts! O LORD, revive me with your loyal love! 160 Your instructions are totally reliable; all your just regulations endure.
